I probably won’t be posting much for the next month or so as we are packing up and moving to the Dallas / Ft. Worth, Texas area. As you may remember, the company I work for is closing down its Tucson office (see Mixed Feelings). After much discussion, many interviews, and even a few other offers, we decided to take an offer in Texas. Now we are packing up, wrapping up and moving out so that I can start my new job in three weeks.
I have lived in Tucson for more than twenty years and have grown used to its dry intense heat and general lack of seasons. The mountains are great and the fact that I know where everything is in town has always been nice, but we are talking about getting a GPS navigation system to help me with our new home.
The lack of mountains, high humidity (combined with heat), and tornadoes are some interesting new things to consider; however, we will also have actual seasons and even some snow and cold in the winter. We are excited about it and the fact it will be a new adventure, opening up a ton of new opportunities and activities for us. I guess maybe I will fit better with my cowboy hat picture… I wonder if I will take on an accent.
It will be an interesting couple months until we really get settled in… I will post any interesting pictures I take along the way.
