Pushing the Frills

I am firing up my EclipseFrills set of Eclipse plug-ins again… trying to get them out the door for a 1.0 release and making sure they still work on 3.5.

SourceForge has really had a facelift and a wealth of new project management tools… it really is pretty awesome for something that is free… though currently their Trac implementation does not work in Mylyn, oh well.

Check out the project Trac Wiki and let me know if you are someone who actually uses these.

No Frills for the Mac

Well, it looks like my Eclipse Frills plug-ins do not work on Mac, which is what we develop on at my new company. I am sure it will be some stupid-easy fix, but I will have to throw this into the 1.0 release that is coming soon… no really, it is; most of the code is done, I just have to fix this and push it all out. I have just been a bit busy with other things… like moving my entire life to another state. :-)

Perforce Frills Screenshot

I spent some time working on my EclipseFrills Perforce plug-in last night. I have the “dump changelist to string” function working and I have the “shelve changes” function working for the most part. Now I need to have a way to see the shelved changes and then to “un-shelve” them.

Perforce Frills

I know I have not finished the 1.0 release of my EclipseFrills plug-in, but I have already started thinking about new frills. One set that I am really hot on right now are my Perforce plug-in frills. There are a few little additions that I have wanted to add to their plug-in that I am finally going to implement.

  • Create String Containing Changelist File Paths
  • Create a Working Set from Changelist
  • Add Search of Changelist Files
  • Ability to Shelve/Unshelve Changelist
  • Export files in Changelist

EclipseFrills Plug-ins Beta Available!

I have put up the project web site, http://eclipsefrills.sourceforge.net, which is also the update site; I have also uploaded the individual plug-in files to the project downloads page. Source code is available via the Sourceforge subversion server. I may post source jars with the initial 1.0 release but I have not decided about that yet.

The initial release includes a Markdown editor, some additional functionality related to search results, a little network helper and a few other little goodies… frills.

Working on My Frills

During my Thanksgiving vacation (I took the whole week off) I have spent some time working on my EclipseFrills project. It’s still not ready for an official release but it is getting close. The Markdown editor plug-in is done except for the documentation, while the workingset and resource plug-ins still need some of the functionality finished up.
