If you like TV and movies, you have to check out Hulu. It’s a site that has full seasons of tons of TV shows as well as full-length feature movies, and no not just the ones that nobody has heard of. I watched a couple episodes of the Alfred Hitchcock Hour and then about half of “Dude Where’s My Car” the other day… good times!

I have been a die-hard WinAmp user for years and have started to stray as of late due to some annoyances they added recently… no I don’t want to install WinAmp remote, and the next time I start my computer I still won’t. I have also been looking for a good portable player that I could install on a USB drive and take with me as needed.

Today I Noticed that my favorite Eclipse distro provider now has a nice new “get” image so I thought I would share it.

I came across another useful windows desktop manager, VirtuaWin and this one is good, and free. It stays out of your way, uses few resources and has good hot key configuration support.

This one came from a candidate we interviewed recently. It’s a very nice conglomeration of commonly used documentation.

Links to a couple helpful programs I found recently:

• RocketDock - a Windows version of the fancy Mac docking bar.
• StickyPad - allows you to put persistent sticky notes on your desktop.

Both are free, of course.

OpenProj is an OpenSource free alternative to MS Project.

It provides Gantt Charts, Network Diagrams (PERT Charts), WBS and RBS charts, Earned Value costing and others. I have not used MS Project all that much but the interface seems very similar so I would imagine that even a seasoned MS Project expert would feel comfortable using OpenProj.

OpenProj will read and write native MS Project files so you won’t lose what you have already created.

Originally a commercial product, OpenProj runs on Linux, Unix, Mac or Windows desktops.

Next time I need some more hard-core project planning software, I am going to spend some quality time with this one.

Eclipse Resource Tagger Plug-in - The Resource Tagger Plug-in adds tagging functionality to Eclipse such that resources may be tagged similar to the content tagging in Del.icio.us and Gmail. The tagged resources may then be managed, searched, filtered, or otherwise operated on by their tag associations.

TasteBook - Site that allows you to create and publish your own personal cook book. Or, you can purchase other prepared cookbooks. You can include professional recipes, recipes from other users or can import and include your own.

In my opinion, these three web sites are the funniest on the internet… if you know of something better, please feel free to send it my way.

• Homestar Runner - Funny all around, but StrongBad Emails are the best.
• I Can Has Cheez Burger - Funny photos of cats (mostly) with amusing captions.

These sites are where I turn to when I need a quick humor injection.
